Thank you!
Did you know that our logo was created by Lake Shore senior Jenna DiMartino? Jenna has always enjoyed creating and making. The Graphic Design course at Lake Shore High School, led by Mrs. Megan Smaldino, has helped Jenna (and many others) grow many of the skills needed to find success in this field.
Last Spring, planning began on the first-ever WNY Maker Expo in conjunction with a RoboRave International Robotics Competition. The volunteer educator group was in search of a fresh logo to help catch the eye of potential attendees to this maker event, an event for all ages. With several local school districts involved in the organizing, schools challenged students to put on their “maker hat.” Of the logos created by students, Jenna’s stood out.
“I enjoy graphic design for a lot of reasons. One is that it allows me to express my creativity digitally through art. I think I have been successful in this field so far because I have an eye for design. I also have a very good understanding of which colors go together and how to position things so they’re pleasing to the eye. I plan on going into the graphic design field in the future and will be studying graphic design at Daemen College,” explains Jenna.
Thank you, Jenna!
